Up for the Blackburn Challenge on July 13th?!!

This year’s Blackburn Challenge is quickly approaching, on Saturday, July 13.

CMI has the potential to field as many as five adult crews for this year’s installment of the race. The Blackburn Challenge is exactly that, a challenging race of endurance as the course is a 20+ nautical mile endurance event circumnavigating Cape Ann.  The conditions can vary dramatically as the water can get very rough with strong winds and high waves.  It is the premier annual open water rowing regatta of the Northeast, if not the East, period.

Rowers looking to enter the Blackburn challenge must be experienced and enter as a crew of 4.  All crews entering are subject to approval by our coaches and race director.  Crews rowing this race are expected to train together in advance of the race.  CMI will work with crews to allow additional training time in our boats outside our adult and youth season programs.

If your experienced crew is interested, please respond by email to racing@rowcmi.org as soon as possible, and no later than June 13.   Please name all members of your crew in your email, thank you.
